Books for Middle Schoolers

Hello again! For my 4th blog post, I thought that I would give some great books for middle schoolers. I know most of the books I have given were aimed for middle schoolers already but these are more for only middle schoolers. Anyone can read these books really, but they fit best when middle schoolers read them.

The first book is Five Kingdoms Sky Raiders by Brandon Mull. This is from the Five Kingdoms series. There are 375 pages. I don’t know if you can tell by the cover or not but this is a fantasy book. It is about this group of friends who are trick or treating when they go to a haunted house. Many people go in but later come out cause it was too scary. The main character, Cole Randolph, and his friends decide they weren’t chickens so they went inside. Little did they know they would never come back out. Cole hides to not be taken away, while all of his friends are taken down a hatch in the haunted house, Cole doesn’t want to leave his friends so he goes down to help them. When Cole goes down he finds that he’s in a desert, not only a desert but a completely different realm.

The next book is Orphan Train by Christina Baker Kline. There are 240 pages. Orphan Train is about a girl named Molly. Molly is 12 years old. She is an orphan and she goes around to families but they don’t accept her because she doesn’t like anyone and has an attitude. Molly knows this but one day an old lady named Vivian decides to foster Molly, she feels a connection. The book goes from when Vivian was Molly’s age and Molly’s point of view.

For my last book, I wanted to pick one of my favorite books. I know some people read this book for a class in 6th or 7th grade but I know some people haven’t read it so I thought I would put it in. Island of the Blue Dolphins by Scott O’ Dell has 224 pages. Island of the Blue Dolphins is about this girl who is alone for 18 years after Europeans came to an island. (This is set in 1835 – 1853This island is shaped like a dolphin hence the name of the island. This book is about her journey on the island, and Europeans coming to the island.
